Th. Ganetsos has graduated from the University of Athens (Department of Physics) and completed his PhD on Ion Beams technologies and Material Science. His extensive research and teaching experience: in the area of Ion Beam Physics, Nanotechnology, Solid State Physics and the use of non-destructive techniques and 3d scanning – printing, especially in Culture Heritage. His research has focused on a) nanotechnolology – Focused Ion Beams, b) material science using non-destructive techniques with applications in solar cells and archaeological materials and c) using 3d-scanning and printing in order to identify details in archaeological samples. Currently he is supervisor of five (5) PhD students in West Attica University, and the responsible person for Erasmus collaborations with WITS (South Africa) and Kyoto University (Japan) . His research results have been published in more than 250 scientific journals and conferences. He is a member of the editorial board of Heritage Journal, MAA, Scientific Culture, he has organised multiple international conferences and participates in technical programm committees.
