The vision and mission of the Department of Industrial Design & Production Engineering of the University of West Attica is to offer high quality education to its students and to promote knowledge and research in the field of Industrial Design & Production Engineering. The Department of Industrial Design & Production Engineering aims to produce new knowledge and to contribute to the development of science and technology through original research, both independently and in the context of national and international / European research collaborations and contributes to the regional and national development of production, economy and society, through extrovert actions and collaborations with public and private entities.

The members of the Department work and collaborate according to the values and objectives of the Department, embrace its Vision and Mission, adopt common policies and practices, and participate in continuous improvement processes.

The Department of Industrial Design & Manufacturing Engineering recognises Quality as the main means of achieving high quality educational and research work and is committed to ensuring Quality in all its academic, educational and research activities recognises the contribution of Quality as a means of enhancing equal access to knowledge, extroversion, international recognition and cooperation with productive institutions.

The Department of Industrial Design & Production Engineering of the University of West Attica is committed to the implementation of a Quality Policy (QP), which supports the academic character and orientation of its study programmes, promotes its purpose and subject matter, implements its strategic objectives and defines the means, actions and ways of achieving them, and implements the appropriate internal and external quality processes with the aim of continuous improvement.

The QP of the Department of Industrial Design & Production Engineering of the University of West Attica:

• is aligned with the FP of the Institution and is drawn up in accordance with the strategic objectives of the Department, at the academic, research and administrative levels,
• is recognised and supported by all members of the academic community
• is specified and monitored through specific target setting.

In order to implement and enforce the Quality Policy, the Department of Industrial Design & Manufacturing Engineering is committed to implementing procedures that will ensure:

• the integrity of the structure and organization of the Study Programmes offered in compatibility with the criteria set by the legislation in force and defined by the National Authority for Higher Education.
  the pursuit of learning outcomes and qualifications in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education,
• the continuous improvement of the educational process and the effectiveness of teaching work,
• the link between teaching and research and ways of linking teaching and research,
• the orientation towards the full satisfaction of students' needs through the provision of a high quality education in a wide range of subjects,
• the excellence of the qualifications of teaching staff,
• the promotion of the quality and quantity of the research work of the members of the academic level 8,
• the linking of teaching and research,
• the level of demand on the labour market for the qualifications obtained by graduates,
• the quality of support services, such as administrative services, academic services (e.g. library services, laboratories, etc.) and student services,
  the application of academic principles of ethics and non-discrimination at all levels, as well as transparency at all levels and by all human resources teams,
• the production of high quality research, the promotion of partnerships and the exploitation of results for the benefit of society and the strengthening of extroversion by promoting new partnerships at local, national and international level.
• the assurance of the implementation of the Department's FP is carried out through an annual review and internal inspection, by the members of the Department's Internal Evaluation Team (IEG), in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (QAQU) of the Institution.

The commitment of the Department's QP is communicated to members of the academic community through its posting on the Department's website. It is also communicated electronically and in printed form to all interested parties (lecturers, researchers, students of all study cycles, administrative staff, technical staff, collaborators, university scholarship holders, professional, research, academic and social partners). The aim of making it public is to ensure that everyone is involved and actively involved in the procedures envisaged. The Department's FP is also made known to first-year students at the welcome events organised at the beginning of each academic year.

For the implementation of the Department's Quality Policy, Quality Monitoring Indicators have been established for the monitoring of the quality of the offered Study Programmes, which are in line with the respective objectives of the University.
