Our Department is one of the largest, in number of active students, Departments of our University.

The Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering of the University of West Attica is presently one of the most modern and dynamic Departments of the country and it is distinguished for the variety of subjects it covers. It is also staffed by faculty members with significant knowledge of modern science and internationally recognized research projects.
The vision of the Department follows the basic policies that have been set in Europe for the renewal of production structures and industry through the 4th industrial revolution with the ultimate goal of increasing productivity and production and maintaining environmental sustainability.
Our goal is high quality education, promotion of excellence and innovation in research.
The administrative staff of the Department is close to the students, guiding them towards the completion of their studies. The excellent library, the modern computer labs and the infrastructure of the Department and the University in general contribute to a productive result of high standards.
The internationalization of our Department is our priority. We place particular emphasis on active participation in educational programs, networks of universities and international organizations, while maintaining the conviction that cooperation between Higher Education Institutions is essential to enhancing our goals.
Our aim is for graduates to be recognized for their high level of scientific training and for their diplomas to be highly recognized in the international labour market. Our Department contributes, with the cooperation links it develops, to the advancement of scientific knowledge, the training of our students, and in general to the improvement of our country's economy.
The new Curriculum is contemporary and comparable to the curricula of top universities. In addition, our Department provides students with the opportunity to study for an academic semester at universities in member countries of the European Union, within the framework of the European Erasmus + Student Exchange Program, which subsidizes the cost of living for students in these countries. A considerable number of our students are also provided with the opportunity through the same programme, to study in Non-European countries (Asia, Africa, America).
In addition, our students have the opportunity to work remunerated with businesses and organizations in Greece or abroad for 3 or 6 months as part of our University Internship Program. This programme gives our students the opportunity to get in touch with real working conditions in businesses and organizations.
In addition to the public grant, our Department and the University in general also focus on other sources of funding, such as European and international programmes, collaborations with public and private bodies, providing scientific services to legal entities and individuals, sponsorships and donations, always in accordance with their mission and for the best achievement of their work. The projects are carried out by the Research Funds Special Account and are contracted by young scientists.
